Today’s special recipe is VEN PONGAL. It is a Tamil Nadu cuisine. It is also seen in Karnataka and Andra Pradesh. This dish is also referred as Khara Pongal or Spicy Pongal. This rice-lentil dish provides a healthy breakfast. This plaque-healthy breakfast is often made in all South Indian homes and it gives a full flavored taste.

Ingredients to make Pongal:

Jeerakashala rice – 1 cup
Splitted yellow moong dal – ½ cup
Medium sized tomato – 1 no
Ginger paste – 1 tbsp
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Green chilli – 2 nos
Curry leaves – 1 tbsp
Pepper corn – 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Cashew nuts – 2 tbsp
Raisins – 2 tbsp
Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
