Ingredients :
Thoor dhal – 1/2 cup
Urad dhal – 2 tsp
Pepper corns – 1/2 cup
Dried red chilli – 2
Curry leaves – hand full
Tamirind – 1 small lemon sized
Hing – 1/2 tsp
Garlic – 10-15 cloves
Mustard seeds – 1tsp
Fenugreek – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1tsp
Gingely oil – 5 tsp
Salt – to taste
Jaggery – (if required) 1tsp
Method :
1. Fry toor dhal, urad dhal, pepper corns, drien red chilli, curry leaves in a hot pan with 1tsp oil. Fry until golden brown
2. Grind it to a fine powder and keep it aside
3. Add oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, fenugrek and cumin and garlic cloves. Fry until golden brown
4. Add tamirind pulp, and salt and let it boil.
5. Add ground powder and simmer stove. Let it thickens until oil oozes out. Add jaggery if you want to(tastes extra yummy with jaggery). Have it with hot steamed white rice with gingely oil and enjoy. Do comment after trying 😀
