INGREDIENTS:
For Plain roasted Makhana:
– Makhana 75g(1cup).
-clarified butter(ghee)-2tbsp.
For Mint/Pudina flavour Makhana:
-1cup(25g) roasted Makhana.
-1tsp clarified butter (ghee).
-salt to taste.
-half tsp crushed black pepper.
-half tsp pudina/mint powder.
For Tangy Makhana:
-1cup(25g) roasted Makhana.
-1tsp clarified butter(ghee).
-salt to taste.
-2tbsp honey.
-half tsp red chilli powder.
-1tsp chaat masala.
For Sweet Makhana:
-1cup(25g) roasted Makhana.
-half cup jaggery.
METHOD:
For Plain Makhana:
-Heat a pan or kadai.
-Add 2tbsp clarified butter(ghee).
-Add 3cups(75g) Makhana.
-Keep stirring on low-flame for 5-7mins
-To check if they are roasted just take one Makhana in hand and crush it.
-If it gets crushed with crunching sound that means they are done.
-Keep them aside.
For Pudina/mint flavour Makhana:
-Heat a pan or kadai.
-Add 1tsp clarified butter (ghee).
-Add 1cup roasted Makhana and stir for 1min.
-Add salt,pepper powder and pudina powder.
-Switch-off flame and mix well.
-Ready to serve.
For Tangy Makhana:
-Heat a pan or kadai with 1tsp of clarified butter (ghee).
-Add 1cup roasted Makhana and stir for 1min .
-Add mixture of 2tbsp honey, half tsp red chilli powder,1tsp chaat masala and salt.
-Switch-off gas.
-Mix well.
– Serve.
For Sweet Makhana:
-Heat a pan or kadai.
-Add jaggery.
-Stir until jaggery gets melted.
-Switch-off gas.
-Add 1cup roasted Makhana.
-Mix well until cool down.
-Serve.
