Chia seed pudding recipes for your busiest mornings! Wake up to a half done breakfast with these chia seed pudding recipes, and what’s best is ready in 5 minutes. Or maybe you fancy them as a snack or healthy dessert. Not to mention that chia seeds are a nutritional powerhouse, which makes them ideal for little tummies too. What more can you want? Oh, yeah, to eat it! 😋
TIPS:
🍶 Use 1 tablespoons of chia seeds for babies, 2 tablespoons for older children or 3 tablespoons for adults (depending on individual appetite).
🥛Use any milk of choice: coconut, almond, cashew, hazelnut, rice, oat milk or cow’s or goat’s for children over the age of 1. The ratio I used is ideal for babies, but you can adjust the texture by simply adding more chia seeds for a thicker texture (leave another half an hour in the fridge after this step), or more milk for a thinner one.
⏱If did not prepare the base the previous night, the mixture needs to sit at least half an hour after mixing the milk and the seeds together, or until there aren’t any clumps.
🍽 It is a great meal prep option, because it will stay in the fridge for 3 to 5 days, depending of the milk you are using (make sure your fridge is set to the right temperature). Make ahead a batch of chia seed pudding base to have on hand as breakfast, heathy snack or dessert and then add whatever you fancy or have on hand.
🍫 For older children or adults you can use cocoa powder instead of carob (carob is still the better choice if eaten in the evening as it does not contain caffeine and won’t affect sleep).
🍬 Use any sweetener of choice, but date paste is a healthier choice. See recipe here
🍎 If your child can handle the apple’s skin grate that in as well; it will add nutritional value.
🍊The addition of spices such as ginger, cinnamon and orange zest is recommended to help babies become adventurous eaters later on.
👶🏻 Chia seed pudding is ideal to transition your baby from smooth purees to texture ones.
