Ingredients:
– 1/4 cup phool makhana (fox nuts) : 1.5 Cups large portion
– Handful of Nuts & Seeds of Choice
– 250ml Milk ( Dairy / Plant )
– 1 tsp jaggery or Khand (adjust to taste)
– A pinch of cardamom powder
– Saffron ( optional)
– 1/4 tsp Fennel seeds ( soaked )
Directions:
1. Roast the Makhana: In a dry pan, lightly roast the phool makhana until they become crunchy.
2. Roast Nuts & Seeds along with Makhana
3. Almonds, walnuts, cashews and pumpkin seeds
4. Let them cool
5. Grind Makhana & nuts mixture into a fine powder
6. In a saucepan add milk & heat it
7. Add little milk or water in a blender
8. Add 2 Tbsp of nutty Makhana mixture, soaked fennel seeds
9. Cardamom powder, soaked saffron and Khand
10. You can also add cinnamon or any other sweet spice
11. Blend the mixture into a smooth paste
12. Once the milk start to boil, add the paste into the pan
13. Stir to mix and let it come to a boil again
14. Serve in a glass or cup, garnish with some toasted chopped almonds
15. or you can rose petals, saffron strands to garnish
