INGREDIENTS:
1. ½ cup moosuri daal / red lentils
2. 2 chopped onion
3. 4-5 piece garlic cloves
4. 4-5 piece green chili
5. 1 tsp salt
6. 2 tomatoes
7. 2 tbsp oil
8. 1/4th tsp turmeric powder
9. some chopped coriander leaves
PROCEDURE:
1. Take a cooking pan. Add ½ cup washed moosuri daal. Then add enough water to boil daal. Keep flame in high. Now add one by one chopped onion, 2 clove garlic chopped, 2 tomatoes (cut in large slices) and one tsp salt. Stir all and mix. In high flame, cover pan and simmer properly.
2. Open the lid. Stir daal, already simmering. Now keep flame in medium and cover pan till daal perfectly boiled. This will take around 30 minutes.
3. 30 minutes later, open the lid. Stir all. Check that, daal and tomato nicely boiled. Now take a masher like video and mash daal properly. This also called “daal ghutuni” in Bangladesh. Mash daal for 2-3 minutes.
4. Now also add 1/4th tsp turmeric powder and 4-5 piece green chili. Mix all and simmer.
5. Then place a pan on stove to make a “foron”. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add 1 chopped onion and 2-3 piece chopped garlic cloves. Stir and fry till golden brown colour. After getting golden colour, add some daal water to make sizzling. And then pour this sizzling daal in rest of boiled daal. Now add some chopped coriander leaves. Stir and mix all. Cover pan and put off the flame.
6. Serve this hot tomato daal with hot rice. This is an amazing tasty daal recipe, hope you all like this.
