Aalu Poha | Quick and Easy Poha Recipe | Healthy Breakfast | Flavors Of My Plate

We all struggle to come up with new ideas and recipes for lunch boxes and breakfast. Moreover, it’s a hassle to feed our kids. Even if you give your kid’s favorite dish in their lunch box the lunchbox is never empty.

So, today in this video we’ll make Aalu Poha. It is very easy to make and just needs 10 mins of your time if you do the prep work beforehand.

So, let’s begin with the recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

1. Poha: 1 cup
2. Potato: 1 small size
3. Onion: 1 small size
4. Green Peas: 1/2 cup
5. Peanuts: 1/4 cup
6. Mustard Seeds: 1 tbsp
7. Curry Leaves: 10-12
8. Green Chilies: 2
9. Coriander Leaves: a handful
10. Turmeric Powder: 1/4 tsp
11. Salt: to taste
12. Oil: for cooking

METHOD:

1. Take a bowl and add poha in it. Rinse the poha with water for a minute and then discard that water.

2. In another bowl place a strainer and leave the poha in it so that the excess water gets drained off. Check the poha after 2 minutes it will become soft.

3. Heat oil in a pan on medium-low heat and add the peanuts. Fry them for a minute or two. Once done take them out on a plate.

4. In the same oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves and potatoes. Fry the potatoes for 2 minutes or until they become soft.

5. Once the potatoes are soft add the chopped onions and fry them for a minute. Now add the fresh green peas and cook them for a minute.

6. We’ll now add salt and turmeric powder. Mix everything well.

7. Add the poha into this prepared mixture. Mix the poha very gently otherwise they will break.

8. At this point add the fried peanuts and mix them well with the prepared poha. Finally, add the green chilies and chopped coriander leaves.

9. Our Aalu Poha is now ready. Garnish it with some chopped coriander leaves. Serve this delicious Aalu Poha with some Elaichi wali Chai.
