Are you ready to make an easy breakfast for toddlers?

I LOVE pancakes, when I say love, I would probably eat them Every. Single. Day if I could! I grew up eating pancakes the size of my head and the memories I have that revolved around eating pancakes is what I wanted to bring to my toddler.

This is one of my healthy breakfast ideas for kids since they are getting a pretty balanced dish. With all my dishes I create, I want to incorporate all of the macronutrients: fats, complex carbohydrates and protein. For all toddlers, breakfast IS the most important meal of the day, well to be honest with you all of their meals are important, however, breakfast is the one that revs their engines. When children get a balanced meal to start their day, it allows a sustained balanced of energy throughout the day.

This reduces the chances of:
– Blood sugar dancing up and down
– Blood sugar induced tantrums
– Fatigue, moodiness and irritability during the day
– Inflammation

Pancakes are usually the only sweet breakfasts I feed my toddler. I am not a huge proponent to feeding children sweet, sugary breakfasts or sugar in general. Did you know most cereals or breakfast foods that are marketed to children have a TON of sugar and it is not just any sugar, it usually is high fructose corn syrup, which is the most toxic and not fit for human consumption, never mind children.

In this easy toddler breakfast recipe, I will show how simple it is to make healthy breakfast for your toddler and the rest of the family. The best part, you can bring your little one into the kitchen to help you create it! Why not empower them and make something delicious while creating memories!

What you will need to make the magic:

Stainless steel bowl
Measuring cups
Mixing spoon, fork or whatever you have to mix
Stainless steel or cast-iron frying pan
Coconut Oil to fry
1 ½ cups spelt flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup coconut oil
1 ¼ cup nut milk or milk
1 free range egg
½ tsp pure vanilla
Flax or olive oil
Pure maple syrup
