🤑 The problem is, the food industry doesn’t profit from us eating normally, or listening to our bodies.
“Big Food” profits from us believing we need to buy “low fat” this or “high protein” that. Or that chocolate is a legit emotional support tool 🙈
They spend $$$$s entrenching a dysfunctional relationship with food and hammering us with ads to make it seem normal.
If you want to stop the never-ending battle with food, channel your great-grandma with my 3 simple rules for weight loss that are actually just… eating like a normal human being.
1️⃣ Get 80% of your diet from whole foods that are minimally processed. If your great-grandma could recognise it, you’re good.
It doesn’t mean you’re “going clean” or never allowed cake or chips. It making getting the majority, nutrient dense foods that help you thrive.
2️⃣ Eat proper meals 3-4x a day that have protein, CARBS AND FATS.
You don’t need to snack if you fuel yourself properly at mealtimes, because your body is actually getting what it needs. (Your great-grandma would prob approve of this one too 😉)
3️⃣ Eat when you’re hungry, stop when you’re full.
That might mean leaving some of what’s on your plate, or asking for a take-out box for half your meal when you’re at a restaurant. That’s OK because those portions are way more than your body needs!
This last one is often easier said than done, as so many of us have tuned out from our hunger and fullness signals over decades of dieting.
Or we have leaned on emotional eating for so long, it’s hard to tell the difference between that and real hunger.
But the more you do the first 2 (eat balanced meals, made up of whole foods) I promise, the easier number 3 will become!
