🍞 French Toast
Ingredients
4 slices of bread (thick bread like brioche or Texas toast works best)
2 large eggs
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar.
Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add butter.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
Place the soaked bread onto the hot skillet.
Cook for about 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Serve warm.
Serving Ideas
Top your French toast with:
Maple syrup
Fresh berries or sliced bananas
or apple
🍞 Easy Pan de Monggo (Pinoy Recipe)
Ingredients
For the Dough
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
½ cup warm milk
¼ cup sugar
1 egg
3 tablespoons melted butter or oil
½ teaspoon salt
For the Monggo Filling
1 cup cooked mashed mung beans
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
Instructions :
1. Make the Dough
In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and a little sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add the egg, remaining sugar, melted butter, and salt.
Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
2. Make the Monggo Filling
In a pan, combine mashed mung beans, sugar, and butter.
Cook on low heat while stirring until thick.
Add vanilla if desired and let it cool.
3. Shape the Bread
Divide the dough into small balls.
Flatten each piece and place 1–2 tablespoons of monggo filling in the center.
Seal and shape into oval rolls.
4. Second Rise
Place on a baking tray and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
5. Bake
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15–18 minutes until lightly golden.
Serving Ideas
Best served warm with coffee or tea ☕
Sprinkle with powdered sugar or brush with butter for extra flavor
Great for breakfast, merienda (snack time), or dessert
