I remember nights ordering two full meals… Eating until I was uncomfortably full… sweating… then sitting there telling myself, “I’ll start tomorrow.”
I said that to myself for close to 3 decades. Over and over again.
And honestly… I didn’t think I could escape it. Food held such a power over me and I constantly betrayed myself over and over and over again. If you’re going though it, I feel you,
Now I’m down 150 lbs. And it didn’t come from more discipline… it came from consistency.
And the only way I got consistent… was by eating in a way I didn’t want to escape from.
Most of us think food has to taste like sacrifice to get results. It took me decades of dieting and reaching 350lbs to realize: it doesn’t.
What changed for me was making meals that excited me… flavor, texture, something I actually looked forward to. And the meals I really loved? Pasta. Rice. Especially mac and cheese.
I used to crush boxes of Kraft mac and cheese… and melt more cheese on top, (and put ketchup on it… don’t ask me why)
That’s why I started my low-carb, high-protein @kaizenfoodco pasta. Honestly, it was for me first. It wasn’t supposed to be a food brand. I didn’t even have any food industry experience.
But the bigger point is this: there’s a better version of almost everything you love. Don’t restrict yourself from the foods you love. It will only backfire.
And for the every day meals? Use spices. Herbs. Build flavor. Make it something you’re excited to eat.
That’s when consistency stops feeling so hard. That’s what’s worked for me. Let me know below if you have tips and tricks, I’d love to hear them.
