Here the method of preparation of the Snake Gourd Tomato Yogurt Stew or Chichinda Tamatar Dahi Masala is given
Ingredients
400 gms of Snake Gourd
2 Tomatoes cut into peces
25 gms of garlic
15 Shallots cut into pieces
2 Green chillies
A quarter spoon of Turmeric powder
Half a spoon of Fennel Powder
1 Spoon of Coriander powder
100 ml of Yogurt
Salt to taste
10 ml of oil
Preparation
Heat the pan and pour in 10 ml of oil. Put in the garlic and the shallots and saute till the shallots are a golden brown. Add the green chillies and the tomatoes and saute and crush till the whole miture becomes a paste. Now put in salt to taste and mix. Add the turmeric powder,coriander powder and fennel powder and mix thoroughly. Add the snake gourd pieces and mix thoroughly. Saute and mix well. Keep on sauteing for 15 minutes until all the ingredients are well cooked.Usually there will be no need to add any water as the water from the vegetables will be enough for the cooking process. Add 100 ml of water if needed..After 15 minutes make the flame low and add 100 ml of yogurt and mix thoroughly. Take off the flame and serve
