Jowar Roti (Sorghum Flatbread) Recipe
A healthy, gluten-free Indian bread made with jowar (sorghum) flour.
Ingredients:
1 cup jowar flour (sorghum flour)
1 cup water (adjust as needed)
Ghee (for serving)
Method:
1. In a pan, boil 1 cup of water.
2. Once water starts boiling, add jowar flour and mix quickly to avoid lumps.
3. Turn off the heat and mix well until it forms a soft dough-like texture.
4. Cover and rest the dough for 5 minutes.
5. When it cools slightly, knead the dough with your hands until smooth and pliable.
6. Divide the dough into small balls.
7. Roll each ball into a flat roti using dry jowar flour to prevent sticking.
8. Place the roti on a hot tawa (griddle).
9. Cook one side, then flip and cook the other side, pressing gently.
10. Flip again to puff it up if possible.
11. Once cooked, apply ghee and serve hot.
